During my master's, I treasured every opportunity I got to travel back to Canada to spend time with friends and family. Particularly in the winter, when the weather was cold and rainy in the Netherlands, I appreciated the Canadian winter weather (yes it's freezing, but that Dutch damp cold is killer) and the winter weather activities! It goes without saying that skating on the canal is something that will never get old. Getting to skate with my sister and reliving our figure skating not-so-glorious days is a staple of our Ottawa winters.
